I'm really saddened to learn about the loss of fellow author and long-time friend John Domini. We met some time in the early aughts, and I suspect this occurred when we swapped books of ours after meeting on Goodreads (something we used to do back then). John sent me the terrific Talking Heads: 77, which I wrote about on the early iteration of This Blog Will Change Your Life here, and I sent him my second novel Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine. John later helped me arrange a reading at Beaverdale Books in Des Moines in April 2009, which led to me interviewing John later that night at his home as the fifteenth ever guest on This Podcast Will Change Your Life. I was struck then, as I always was in the intervening years, that John had a great enthusiasm for life, writing, his Italian heritage, his children, and his delightful wife,the author Lettie Prell. I'm self-conscious about claiming any author in their death as someone I knew, should that distract from honoring their life and family. Yet, I met John near the start of all this for me, and he left an idelible impression. I hope you'll listen to our talk, though what I really hope is you'll read his many books. As human beings we all leave multiple legacies, and as authors we're also lucky to have our words, left to the world for your consumption and reading pleasure.
